Enerfab employees giving back to local students

Local company partners with Adopt-A-Class Foundation’s tutoring program

Cincinnati, OH (Nov. 18, 2015) – Employees at Enerfab are giving back to the community and to students at a local elementary school. The year-long commitment to Parker Woods Montessori, in Northside, is part of Enerfab’s partnership with the Adopt-A-Class Foundation. Enerfab adopted two classrooms at the school. They are working with grades 1-3 in one class and grades 4-6 in the other.

Enerfab team leaders visit the classrooms at least once a month and spend the day working with the students on math, reading comprehension, writing and vocabulary.

Over 25 Enerfab staff members have signed up to participate, including Scott Anderson, President of Enerfab Process Solutions & Fabricated Products.

“This new partnership is more than a volunteer opportunity for Enerfab employees,” says Anderson. “We are honored to partner with the Adopt-A-Class Foundation on work that makes a difference in our community and in the lives of the children who call this community home.”

The theme behind this effort is “My Tomorrow,” and this message is what the volunteers want to instill in the students before the one-year agreement comes to an end. The volunteers are also mentoring the students and encouraging them to put their best foot forward.

“We’re pushing a message out to the students that encourages them to be whatever they want to be in life,” says Sue Kramer, Executive Assistant at Enerfab. ”Along with the traditional lesson plans, we teach the kids about what we do at Enerfab. Perhaps we will spark them to think about their futures.”

Volunteers at Enerfab are grateful for the experience and hope that the partnership continues beyond the one-year agreement.

“We’re so thrilled to have Enerfab as an adopter at Parker Woods,” said Julie Shifman, Executive Director, Adopt-A-Class Foundation. “Not only did they immediately say yes to this partnership, but they agreed to help two classes. The work they’re doing to mentor the students is so impactful.”
